If I type an H on the keyboard the Japanese Ku character appears on the screen. None of the characters map correctly. Is this caused by the laptop keyboard not being a standard layout? How do I fix this issue? My Language bar is already in Hiragana mode, but has the same behavior as that user described.

For some reason on this machine, the default input method was set to "Kana Input. Click tools and on the general tab is the Input Method setting. This needs to be set to romaji and not kana. Hope this helps someone.
